简介
If Asakawa Maki were possessed with Iggy Pop's soul, if Lydia Lunch's spirit invaded Eri Chiemi, if Wada Akiko grew her hair out and popped some hallucinogens, still none would outshine Tokyo's enigmatic psychedelic kayokyoku/chanson singer, NAGISA YOKO. Yoko has released five albums (including a 12"on Konishi of PIZZICATO FIVE’s Readymade label) and a slew of singles. She has worked with producers as varied as 1960's "Group Sounds" legends HAPPENINGS FOUR and noise-musician turned literary superstar Nakahara Masaya (VIOLENT ONSEN GEISHA, HAIR STYLISTICS). This release is a special one-time collaboration between old friends Justin Simon and Nagisa Yoko. Justin's songwriting and production take Yoko into much weirder territory than her usual output. It also features fellow Yoko fan and notorious underground Tokyo journalist Naruse's ode to Yoko, recorded in Inokashira park. The B-side features a vinyl etching by Hisham Bharoocha (BOREDOMS), meticulously carved onto a blank metal plate specifically for this collaboration. Takuyuki Moriya, bass player for GHOST, plays bass on "Kamikakushi" as well.
