简介

"I'm loving this new positive and uplifting album by Two of a Kind! The gentle and empowering lyrics combined with beautiful instrumentation and top notch production quality make this a must have Children's Album for 2016!" - Laura Sullivan, Grammy-winning musician After this past year of celebrating 25 years of performing and recording for kids and families, David & Jenny Heitler-Klevans of Two of a Kind, are back with their 9th CD! We’re All In This Together focuses on working together to solve big problems and have fun. The theme of working together is explored through a variety of topics, including caring about the environment - in songs like We’re All In This Together and Treehugger. The CD is mostly comprised of original songs, along with one cover and a parody. These catchy tunes span a range of genres from the hard-rocking I Wanna Be a Superhero, the funky Leave it There, the New Orleans-flavored title song and the jazzy I Dig Reading, to folk and pop featuring amazing musicians and kids’ voices. Other songs include Wild and Free: a folk-rock song about physical activities kids often do with wild abandon (running, riding a bike, swinging, etc.) - totally in the moment. Sing! Bang! Boom! It’s a Symphony celebrates the sounds all around us and features lots of silly sound effects. Oh, Guanaco is in an Andean style, with panpipes, nylon string guitar and Latin percussion. It was written for the Detroit Zoo and is about the animal cousin of llamas and camels, with some humorous factual details. The one parody on the album is Kelp! using the music of the Beatles’ song “Help!”. These are just a few of the awesome songs for the entire family to enjoy! Of course this album would not have been made without everyone on the team working together! Two of a Kind was joined in the studio by a kids’ chorus of students from Cheltenham Elementary and Abington Friends School, plus many musicians including Kevin Hanson and Erik Johnson (of the bands The Fractals and Huffamoose); bassists Jason Fraticelli and Ken Pendergast, jazz musicians Dave Posmontier and Stan Slotter, rapper Kuf Knotz, didgeridoo master Harold E. Smith, Acoustic Blender bandmates Hope Wesley Harrison and Justin Solonynka, and David and Jenny’s twin sons Ari and Jason! The album was engineered, mixed and co-produced by Glenn Barratt of MorningStar Studios. Two of a Kind’s previous eight recordings have won a total of thirteen Parents’ Choice, Children’s Music Web and Kids Radio Mania awards and Creative Child CD of the Year. In addition, David & Jenny’s songs have been winners in the International Songwriting Competition the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the USA Songwriting Competition. Publishers’ Weekly has called Two of a Kind “a one-of-a-kind find.” "Catchy tunes and all are paired well with lyrics that are full of substance...something that seems a rarity these days in the family genre. Two thumbs up!" - Katherine Dines, award-winning children's musician "I'm loving the CD - lovely positive messages, super catchy melodies, so refreshing to hear all the different musical influences, great singing and production too - congrats!" - Wouter Kellerman, Grammy-winning musician "Great vocals and such a wide range of musical influences! So great... congratulations for making a fun and funny record the whole family can enjoy." - Madi Das, Grammy-nominated musician "Two of a Kind has done it again! Another stellar album chock full of meaningful, catchy, wonderful songs in varied styles. Not only do children and families need to hear the messages in these songs, but other performers would do well to learn them and spread them far and wide. Bravo!" - Patricia Shih, award-winning children's musician
