The album, which features all original material penned by the New Glasgow native, is the fulfillment of a longtime dream. “I have been writing songs since my parents gave me my first guitar about 10 years ago and it’s really great to finally get a chance to have them recorded,” said an excited Stewart, as she gets ready to perform a small coffee house gig at a local bar. Mary recorded her album in Toronto, but brought it down with her to TJ Tunes in Nashville for mixing. While down there, she met up with the team at Yes Mastering to put the final touches on the album, giving it that signature Nashville sound. Born into a musical family, Mary grew up around an extensive record collection that led to an appreciation of music from all generations and genres. At sixteen, she recorded a 4-song demo at New Glasgow’s Riverfront Studios with engineer Fred Lays (aka George Canyon) at the controls. Six years later, with a maturing voice and songwriting abilities, she looks forward to the release of this project with great anticipation. “Chances Are I Like You” was recorded at Jason Ball Studios, Toronto, and produced by Mary Stewart and Jason Ball; engineered and mixed by Jason Ball. CAILY was originally mastered by Noah Mintz at Lacquer Channel, but was re-mastered by Alex at Yes Mastering. With the excitement of “Chances Are I Like You” finally coming out, Mary will be taking the momentum from her album release into a showcase for Canadian Music Week. She is planning a small tour around the GTA and Atlantic Canada to coincide with this, as well to test out new material, in preparation for her residency at TJ Tunes in Nashville, where Mary will be recording her next album with the help of Carrie Underwoods backing band.
