“Oud Music for Snake Handlers” is the debut solo CD by multi-instumentalist and luthier Tom Moran, guitarist for the legendary post-punk band The Five and guitar, mandolin, banjo player, and singer songwriter for alt-country pioneers, The Deliberate Strangers. A dream-like collision/adaptation of African, Middle Eastern, Indian, and Western influences ranging from Munir Bashir to Dock Boggs, “Oud Music” features sixteen instrumental tracks recorded and performed by Mr. Moran over the last five years.
