简介

Jeff Pike is mostly known or recognized as the leader and founder of the band A1A. A1A have been the Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show since 1992. Still on the road and performing, Jeff and A1A also write and records their own trop rock music. As of this writing they and have released 5 CDs." Their latest, "The Road To Paradise" was released in early June of 2011. While tropical music and the lifestyle of the genre is a big part of Jeff's life and music, his real musical heart and soul lie elsewhere. No stranger to the singer/songwriter crafting of his art, Jeff's "real" music (no offense to his work with A1A) comes from 49 years of real life experiences, interpretations and the deep trials and tribulations he has experienced throughout his journey. A journey that has made him the creatively honest artist he is today. Early life and career musical influences such as Dan Fogelberg, Queen, Billy Joel, Gino Vannelli, Barry Manilow, Larry Carlton, The Carpenters, Karla Bonoff and John Denver have all carved a permanent place in Jeff's solo work. To quote the late great Charlie Parker, "Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Jeff's new digital CD "50" marks Jeff's 4th solo independent release. In the interim he has been involved in many other projects, CD's and musical ensembles. Always keeping a full plate....always living a very, very full life. All 15 of the recordings on this digital CD are previously unreleased. Although, there are 4 tracks ( On Down The Line, The Right Kind Of Day, Just A Little While Longer and Good Morning Alabama) that were released with different arrangements on previous CD's. In preparation for this CD and in digging through old tapes, four "lost" demos were found on cassette. (Here Stands Your Man, Even When You're Gone, To Have It All and Good Morning Alabama) The master tapes long gone, they were immediately restored as much as possible, as quickly as time would allow and are included here on this special unreleased retrospective for the first time. Covering a time span of 29 years, (1982 - 2011) "50" was released to coincide with Jeff's 50th Birthday. It was an amazingly difficult and time consuming task narrowing down which tracks to include; and while for Jeff this was definitely a labor of love, it is his strong wish that you are able to relate to his music in some way. A wish for you that when the last song fades, it leaves you with a little more peace in your life, and if nothing else, to remind you that you are not humanly alone on this emotional roller coaster called life. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ FROM JEFF This album is very special to me and I am glad that I decided to pursue it. Finding some of these old songs again and putting this project together has been very emotional and rewarding for me. Immediately, I have been reminded of how much time has passed so quickly in my life. Light has been brought to my eyes again in examining all of the extreme highs and lows in my life that fueled these, and so many other songs. But most importantly I am once again reminded of all that I have to be thankful and grateful for in the life in which I have led. A thankfulness that I all too often have taken for granted. I remember when I was 29 years old. I felt almost suicidal and constantly afraid and sure that my youth, life and career were over. How so little I knew when I was young. I have learned so much in the 20 years that have since passed. In fact, I have probably learned more about myself in the past 6 years than I have throughout the course of my entire life. I have made a lot of mistakes. I have deeply hurt friends, family and those I have loved, and I have been deeply hurt by the same. I could go on, but I will not for I want you to listen to my music. Yet I will say this. There is always forgiveness to ask, prayers to be prayed and someone in your life who needs your unselfish love, care and understanding; and although there have been times in my life when I doubted or did not believe, I know now and accept that whether or not I am alone, I will never stop learning and growing until my time on this beautiful planet is up - and that there is still music to be made.
