简介
Steve Romig is a Melbourne singer-songwriter. He recently decided to enter his songs in a few international song competitions to see how they fared in comparison to other songs. This confirmed what people who had been hearing his songs over the last 20 years knew - he is a world class talent. In the past 18 months Steve has won: *The 2007 Billboard Song Contest(International): Blues/R&B *The 2006 Unisong Competition (International):Jazz/Blues Category *The 2006 International Song Competition:Blues Category *The Broadjam Joe Robassa Blues Competition *The Victorian/Tasmanian Blues Awards for Best Song of the Year, Best Band of the Year and Best Artist of the Year. and was a *Finalist in the 2006 Independent Music Awards: (International) Blues *Finalist - The 2007 Australian Gospel Music Awards:Blues *Finalist - The Musicoz Awards 2006:Blues After many years supporting other well-known musos, it is now Steve’s time to shine. James Roche, from successful Australian Duo, Bachelor Girl, notes "Steve Romig is in the top one percent of vocalists in this country. Few musicians have the soul and blues of this incredibly talented singer." Steve’s style ranges from funky and bluesy rock to moving and evocative acoustic ballads. Great rhythm and melody with something original added to the time-tested techniques. He plays solo, duo or with his band. He has had much to be authentically blue about over the years and has recently gathered several prestigious song-writing awards in that genre. Steve’s album “The Friday Sessions” has now gathered several international awards for the songs. Steve has recently had a song selected for a compilation to support Mr Holland’s Opus in the US. He also played at The Mount Beauty Music Muster to great response (so much so that the organizers doubled his band’s scheduled appearances). Steve was interviewed & performed live on Mikes Brady’s 3AW radio show and his song charted No.1 on ILR Aussie Underground Music Show (syndicated) for 34 weeks straight. Australia’s premier vocalist, John Farnham, covered two of Steve’s songs, “Sometimes” on Aria award-winning “The Last Time” album and in 1999 “Take You Back” on Anthology 3. In 2002 Steve spent 6 months in Japan playing in Jazz trio and between 1990-2000 he supported top notch Aussie acts like Renee Geyer, Darryl Braithwaite, Tommy Emmanuel and Bachelor Girl. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Website: www.steveromig.com www.myspace.com/steveromig www.sonicbids.com/steveromig
