The Michaels is an artistic partnership of Brett Wiscons and Jon Shoulders, two veterans of the Indianapolis and Bloomington, Indiana live music scenes. Brett co-founded Great Scott!, one of Indy’s premier rock acts, around the same time Jon began his performing career by winning first prize honors at an annual Battle of the Bands event held at Uncle Fester’s House of Blooze in Bloomington. The two performed consistently with their respective acts throughout Indiana and neighboring states, eventually teaming up when Jon joined Great Scott!. Shortly after, they decided to explore the possibility of a duo act, and The Michaels was born a few months later.

In July of 2010, the group was asked to open for established and successful touring act the BoDeans. They responded with their most impassioned set to date – and the 500-plus audience responded in kind to the energy and passion coming from the stage. After more than 300 shows, this performance reaffirmed Jon and Brett’s passion for performing and conviction in their songwriting style. They are currently seeking similar opportunities to play their original music, hoping to spread their music to fans across the Midwest while supporting regional and national acts. Confirmed 2011 tour dates include Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH; Put-in-Bay, OH, Saint Louis, MO and Findley Lake, NY with many more cities, states and venues to come.
