His keyboard artistry, dazzling technical command, and sensitivity have brought 'Stas' Venglevski, a native of the Republic of Moldova, part of former Soviet Union, increasing acclaim as a virtuoso of the bayan. A two-time first prize winner of the bayam competition in the Republic of Moldova, Stas is a graduate of the Russian Academy of Music in Moscow where he recieved his Masters Degree in Music under the tutelage of the famed Russian bayanist, Friedrich Lips. In 1992 he emigrated to the United States. Stas' repertoire is astonishing collection of virtuoso works by Bach, Weber, List, Schubert, as well as contemporary and ethnic music. He has toured extensively thought the former Soviet Union, Europe, and United States. He also performs frequently in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, his home in America, and is a regular participant in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's Arts in Community education program (ACE) and in Milwaukee theater productions. The brillant artistry and musical virtuosity of Stas afford an expanded dimension in music and an innovative musical adventure to the audience. John Simkus - John previously served as president of the Chicago Accordion Club from 1993 to 1998 inclusive and was again elected to serve another term for 2001/2002. He is also a director for the Accordionist's and Teacher's Guild and a vice-president at large for the American Accordion Association. John was invited to perform with the prestigios University of Kansas City, Missori accordion Orchestra an their tour in Italy, a highlight of his musical career. His teaching skill often have him invited to festivalss and Maestro Galla-Rini's music camp to condact workshops on vatious subjects pertaining to the accordion.
