What makes a hero? Is it charming good looks or is it the super human strength causing an opposition to bend to their will? Or maybe it is the millions of injustices crying out for a vigilante to save the day? Whatever it is that truly makes a hero super, it can be found in seemingly ordinary people. This is what Chicago-based Hip Hop artist CW Allen explores in his new single, “Heroes Never Die.” In Heroes Never Die, CW teams up with Grammy award winning producer, Alex “Big Juice” Hitchens(producer for Lecrae & Lebron James/Kobe Bryant’s latest Nike commercials) and soulful singer/song writer Tremaine Harris, to create the heroes anthem of 2016. The song opens with the sound of tribal drums and classical violin strings, to later develop into an iconic chorus reminding us that perceived weakness doesn’t equal defeat; “You may catch us bleeding/but legacy we leaving/we’ll never be defeated.” The talented artist paints a picture of a runner enduring the race of life with grace and faithfulness. As CW’s lyrics progress he shares characteristics about those perceived as heroes and how they leave lasting legacies. Legacies built from by everyday people tackling everyday life, while looking to Jesus as their example. “A hero for the Hero, trying to leave us a legacy/ Raising up a regiment/ to carry on with consistency/heading into dark places/Lord give em’ your patience/ to run well, this marathon and keep tighten’ them laces”
