Selections of French Ouvertures are rarely found nowadays and that's why Vol. 14 of our Symphonic Lounge Collection is solely dedicated to these sparkling and virtuous short orchestra pieces that form the musical introduction to some of the most popular French operas of the 19th Century. Other than the great Italian ouvertures (which can be more or less compared to an opulent red wine) the music of composers like Adolphe Adam, Aime Maillard, Adrien Boieldieu and the others that are represented here really sparkle like champagne. It's pure fun and pleasure to listen to them especially when they are played on such a high and virtuoso musical level as we can hear it from the Brussles National Radio Orchestra conducted by Franz Andre.
