Puzzlejug are a group of enthusiasts for the local folk music of Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, the region of the UK East of Oxford in the West Midlands. Over the last few years, their songs have graced village halls, folk clubs, festivals, concerts and local radio. They take a pride in the research put into their material and put it across in a vibrant, entertaining manner. In many cases, members of the group have collected the songs from local traditional singers. Some of the songs on this CD will be familiar to the listener, but perhaps in a different version, whilst others may be new. Many are recorded here for the first time. Puzzlejug are Carol Davies (vocals, keyboard), Gwilym Davies (vocal, guitar, concertina, melodeon), Tony Poulter (vocal, mouth-organ), Geoff Ramshaw (vocal, fiddle, whistle, Northumbrian pipes), Colin Roffe (vocals, mandola, mandolin), with guest appearances from Terry Brenchley (vocal, fiddle), Paul Burgess (vocal, fiddle, recorder) and Mary-Ann Davies (vocal).
