Schnappi is the story of a baby croc teething on his father's leathery leg and how proud his mother is! The song was written by Iris Gruttmann, at the request of her niece Joy - who at the time was just 4 years old - however Iris insists that Schnappi is all Joy is doing, "she came up with the lyrics and tune" she says. After Joy recorded the vocals for Mouse, the TV program, Iris posted the song on the Internet for the family to hear, little knowing how big the little crocodile was about to become.
