If you ask Ann Doka about ‘the next big thing’ in Europe, she will say: “New Country!” And artists such as Taylor Swift, The Common Linnets & Kacey Musgraves are in fact currently winning over European hearts with their latest tours, giving the genre a popularity similar to that it already has in the US. For Ann, however, “New Country” isn´t just the next big hype but a long-nurtured passion. As a 14-year-old girl, she discovers her love for Country while listening to the American Country Countdown on AFN (American Forces Network). From that moment on, she plays in a variety of bands, writes her own songs, and launches her first solo music project in 2011. Awarded several times with the German Rock & Pop Award (among others as "Best Country Singer" 2012 & 2014), she has already attracted attention across the borders of Germany. With her new song "Little Miss Sunshine" she even managed to place herself in the semifinals of an international songwriting competition. Passionate live performers, Ann and her band are regulars on the German and European tour circuit. She appeared as opener for well-known singer and actor Tom Beck and Jupiter Jones. Also she has been invited twice to join a line-up that features major US country stars such as the Dixie Chicks, The Band Perry, Lee Ann Womack, Brad Paisley & Sam Hunt at the high-profile C2C Country2Country event in the O2 Arena, London (England). Inspired by the creativity of Nashville, TN she penned three amazing new songs for her Nashville EP “Could’ve been mine” with producer and co-writer Russell Wolff, whom she met while doing a smaller gig in Nashville. Russell is so thrilled by the “German Girl” that he lined up some of the best musicians in town to record the new songs with her at County Q Studios Nashville: Chris Rodriguez (guitar– Kelly Clarkson & Keith Urban), Vail Johnson (bass – Kenny G, Keb’ Mo’, Whitney Houston) and Bruce Bouton (pedal steel – Lady Antebellum) In march 2016, Ann Doka released her new song "Little Miss Sunshine", which she wrote for her friend, who was suffering from cystic fibrosis. The song is supposed to point to this bad disease and generate donations for affected persons. With her brand new single SINGIN' Ann Doka releases a song which strikes at the very heart of modern country. Fresh, pop-rock treats that feed the fans on CD just as well as live – with a little dash of Nashville.
