This, a bit dramatic, sound recording was made in sunny and warm winter in Egypt 2005 during my visit to Cairo where we, a group of International musicians, came together to produce Music Medicine – Sound Healing concert & workshop in Sakyat el Sawy Culture Center. Right after the concert I met Tessa. She was a student of Art from Oregon and we agreed to visit the great Pyramides the next day. A guitar player Scott Huckaby said he would come too. The day before, the Arabic guardian of the Cheops pyramid entrance told me to come in the second hour of the afternoon visit shift, when there aren't so many people so I could stay inside a bit longer. My original intention was to record didgeridoo and silence in Kings Chamber but I could not bring nor didgeridoo nor my photo camera inside. What I was left with was Sony Mini disc recorder and our voices. I did not know how long we will stay and record so I've turned on energy saving mode on mini disc and that mode only allowed lower quality recording. That is where the sssssssss white noise is coming from. I am sorry for that. Only one shorter piece of recording was made in better quality. With my voice, I tried to find the right pitch which would be the same of the Kings Chamber and the whole Pyramid. When I got that pitch something wonderful started to happen as I described it in my “Sound Healing” booklet, published with Om didge music for Sound Healing. Tessa was just amazing. I did not know that she sings so her singing also came to me as a surprise. A thought which crossed my mind at first was: “Why is she distrubing my scientific experiment?” And then I realized how Divine her presence was. Her voice is coming from the heart and from the mystical female. One can hear her heartbeats in her throat too. :) The Great Pyramide of Giza is an amazing structure created to stand the test of time and knowledge. More than that, I believe that if any of you come to this place with respect and intention to learn something new, the Pyramid will respond in most amazing ways. One could say that the Cheops Pyramid has an inteligence of its own. Call it magic, induction, portal, memory and heritage of Pyramid builders or whatever you like, but one thing is for sure: besides its architectural wonders it has something mysterious, something intriguing, some deeper symbolic meaning which communicates with our inner Selves, bridging our judgemental mind. I will call it Love and invite you to experience Sound & Silence of Cheops on your own. The silent part is recorded on a mini disc while Tessa and I meditated inside the Kings Chamber. I took one round of 7,7 min of silence and doubled it 5 times to get around 30 minutes of silence. I hope this silence of Cheops Kings Chamber will help you acquire some of the rejuvenating energy which is, I believe, stored inside the Great Pyramid.
