“As a mom, I saw the positive influence that young Christian musicians had on the lives of my daughters growing up and aspiring to share their gifts as well,” says Mona Harper, founder and manager of NOW. “As a manager in the Christian music industry, I realized that I was a part of inspiring a new generation of kids and teens and wanted to continue pouring into their lives.” At the time of starting NOW, Mona Harper was already managing both of her daughter’s full time music careers; Morgan Harper Nichols and Jamie Grace. She went to her daughters with the concept, the idea, the mission, and the three of them began working toward the foundation of NOW. “When my mom first came to me with this idea, it only made sense. It was right when we were talking about who I would hypothetically take on tour, and the entire movement and mission behind NOW was somethingI wanted to share. I was also really excited about producing and am so thankful I get to be a part of their music as well.” -Jamie Grace, Dove Award Winner & GRAMMY Nominee. Auditioned over the span of weeks, NOW is comprised of 18 year olds Seth, Alex and Andre and 19 year old Christian. All four guys sing, play various instruments and are songwriters. Their musical influences range from Jesus Culture to Relient K and their hometowns from Ohio to Brazil. But meeting NOW and spending more than a minute with the guys anyone would quickly see they’re a band a brothers. However, keep in mind that the music played by NOW is only a small part of who they are. ”I auditioned to sing and play guitar, and even with the language barriers that sometimes hinder me, God blessed me, and now I’m a part of a ministry to bring people to Jesus through music.” Andre shares about the audition process. They sing, write and play multiple instruments but ultimately the music is only a part of a much great mission. As Mona Harper says, “NOW is more than a band, NOW is a time. It’s a season of life… it’s a way of life… and it starts now.”
