On September 16th, 1920, a horse-drawn carriage carrying dynamite detonated, killing 39 people and injuring countless others. Joseph P. Kennedy, the father of JFK, survived this initial act of terrorism against the USA. The impact created but this blast knocked hime to his knees when he was standing 3 blocks away from it.

Initially, a faction of the Communist party (the Bolshevists) were suspected of this. Later, Italian anarchists associated with Sacco and Vanzetti were suspected. Blame has never been officially assign to any individual, group or organization for the perpetration of this carnage which remains an unsolved mystery to this day.
