I was a shy quiet teenager who found a powerful sense of self expresion through song. I found that I had a big voice, and when I sang, people listened. I loved the music of the great singers, but my favourites were Ella Fitzgerald and Whitney Houston. Prince has always been a huge influence of mine as well. I found him wild and melodic and always shocking and surprising the listener. I hope the subtle influence can be heard or even felt when listening to my music. I've always enjoyed an improvisational approach to making music, so making this album, we spent many days in the studio trying things out, working with some of the best independent musicians in Dublin - and I couldn't be happier with the result. It was a long journey, but well worth the time it took. I'm so proud of this album, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
