Drake Hayes grew up in the small community of Acuff, Texas. He graduated from Roosevelt High School. While at Roosevelt he took a strong interest in writing short stories and poetry. Soon after, he began composing his own original songs and fell in love with song writing. Drake spent his summers playing bass guitar and singing in young rock-n-roll bands. After graduation Drake took his interest in music to the next step, and decided to follow his dreams to become a full time traveling musician. Touring the state of Texas and beyond, Drake found his calling in life. Drake has toured with bands such as Dean Seltzer, Mark McKinney, Proud Cut Ponies, Jeremy Steding, and more. The experience Drake gained from playing with these groups helped him to further his musical direction. After being on the road professionally for four years, Drake decided it was time to put together his own band and chase his own dream. Drake enrolled in the South Plains College commercial music program concentrating on furthering his career as a front man. Drake is currently studying with some of the best musical instructors out there. In just one year Drake has put together his dream band.
