Jack Ellis is a bilingual singer/songwriter from the southernmost point of South Wales who crafts real songs from real stories. Whilst his music takes influence from classic rock its alternative production values and sharp hooks will appeal directly to fans of Jeff Buckley, Ben Howard, Frank Turner and Catfish & The Bottlemen. Jack released his first solo recording ‘Pocket of Lint’ in 2014, which gained significant airplay from Edith Bowman (Virgin Radio), Adam Walton (BBC Radio Wales) and Nation Radio, it also earned him a special guest appearance and live acoustic session in 2016 with Dermot O’Leary on BBC Radio 2, alongside Biffy Clyro and Simon Le Bon. In the months that followed Jack assembled a team of session players to compliment his signature sound and heartfelt lyrics. Returning to the studio in 2015, the first single released with this new line-up was ‘The Storm’, produced by Todd Campbell (The People The Poet, Peasant’s King, Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons) at Stompbox Studios the track was once again debuted by request on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show. ‘The Storm’ also received critical praise from the likes of Bethan Elfyn and Adam Walton (BBC Introducing Wales), Vents Magazine, Candid Magazine, GigSlutz, Fame Magazine, Vinyl District, Fortitude Magazine, Cultured Vultures, Americana UK, Indie Obsessed, Going Solo, The Revue Magazine and featured in ‘33 Essential Songs From Wales You Must Listen To’ on Wales Online.
