CREDITS & CONCEPTS *ALBUM CONCEPT: this album is a culmination of four seperate projects which i pulled the best songs together to become one self-titled project 'doc prop'. the projects consisted of: A-an instrumental album entitled 'audible office'..B-a doc prop ep entitled 'the drawing board'.. C-a collaboration project and..D-an abstract project with mister a under the alias masterful mind entitled 'music for the subconcious'--to furthermore the congruency of these tracks i ordered the track listing symettrically in this order..A-B-C-D-B-C-D-A-A-D-C-B-D-C-B-A in accordance to their original project..ENJOY! 1. THE SUICIDE REMIX beat: migida & doc prop *this beat turned out super cool. migida made all the melodies and bassline--pretty much created a shell--and sent it to me back in the day. i use to bump it just like that--then i loaded it into my program and created the drum kit & percussion behind it--enjoy! 2. FADE AWAY beat: migida lyrics & vocals: doc prop acoustic lap steel: mister a accent vocals: storey condos *the first time i heard this beat i instantly thought of the hook and it went from there. i told migida i had to have this beat and he was down. the lyrics reflect the mood i was in at the time which was sort of down and out. sometime later marc had aqcuired his acoustic lap steel so we decided to see how it would sound on this track and it came out beautifully! lastly i felt it needed some accents to really make it pop and marc suggested storey. naturally she sounds amazing and here we are... 3. SCREAM FT. ELIGH beat/keys: migida lyrics & vocals: eligh & doc prop lap steel: mister a *this track came out awesome! i sent eligh the beat and the very next day he sent it back to me with his verse (which is raw)! i then wrote my verse to correlate to the theme that he came up with. migida ended up remixing the beat and adding a few more things--and then i recorded marc on the hook to give it a more live and heavy type feel--if you will. 4. REMINISCE2REALITY beat: noc mechanic lyrics & vocals: doc prop lap steel: mister a accent vocals: storey condos add. vocals: jarrod stein *this song originally was like an outro type track for the masterful mind project. anyone who's heard that cd knows what im talking about..i ordered this track number 12 on that album and the second verse reflects on the theme of every track on that album..this was actually the first song marc & i collaborated on and i had jason format it so marc could have a lap steel solo near the end which we all enjoy..i consider this a title track-- 5. WHAT I WANT beat/keys/automation: nostrathomas lyrics & vocals: doc prop acoustic lap steel: mister a *this is a very old song and my favorite song on the album! i wrote the first verse and the hook with no beat then after i heard this beat i wrote the second verse..at the time i had just heard a solo song by my boy mike (phaze) which inspired me to begin this track--i love the piano laced by nostrathomas..listen 6. LIFE/DEATH FT. PHAZE & BLITZ beat: migida lyrics & vocals: doc prop, phaze, and blitz *this too is an older track..phaze came up with the theme and it basically went from there.. 7. VICE GRIPS beat: migida lyrics & vocals: doc prop lap steel: mister a *migida originally showed me this beat and i wrote to it without him knowing! i showed it to him and he really had no choice..the sample is of jon lennon..i made it so the first verse is very slow and lethargic while the second is upbeat and characteristic..marc laced it with some trippy lap steel effects which accent it perfectly.. 8. NEUROTIC DENIAL beat/automation: doc prop guitar: kirk williams *this is my favorite instrumental track on the album..i made it during a very interesting mood..i wanted to make a beat which gave off the feel that someone was going crazy but is in denial cuz often i feel that way (haha)..i sampled a bunch of clips from the movie 'a scanner darkly' which was originally a novel by philip k. dick..lastly kirk who is an amazing guitarist added some cool and tripped out guitar and guitar effects over the beat to top it off.. 9. KAREN'S CARWASH beat: doc prop *this beat is chill..i was inspired to make this beat from a photograph a friend of mine took from inside a car while in a car wash..i tried to capture what i call 'the 3 e's of inspiration' which are: emotion, essence and expression to transform her visual art to an audible medium..the photo had what looked like 'bob dylan' glasses sitting on the dash hence the sample-- 10. ALLITTERATE NATION beat: noc mechanic lyrics & vocals: doc prop lap steel: mister a *this is a classic noc mechanic beat!!! also this was the first track ever created for the masterful mind project--i wrote the lyrics in the form of allitteration..if you dont know what that is look it up! 11. LIFE AIN'T FAIR FT. EQUIPTO & Z-MAN beat: migida lyrics & vocals: equipto, doc prop, and z-man cuts: hap hathaway *there's not much to say..this is just a really cool collab tack from everyone!!! equipto came up with the theme-- 12. NINJA GUIDIN' beat: migida lyrics & vocals: doc prop *HA! this track is so fun to perform live! migida originally gave it to me with a different intro and was meant to be a battle track..this was the first track recorded for the ep..i found some cool samples from some b-rated kung fu movies and made a new intro..here it is-- 13. ON MY WAY HOME (DAYLIGHT) beat: noc mechanic lyrics & vocals: doc prop acoustic lap steel: mister a *this is lyrically my favorite track on the album as well as one of my favorites in general..it was originally the actual outro track for the masterful mind project..noc made the beat and the sample is from 'dead can dance'-i wrote this as a story which tells of a character who grew up essentially a cave-dweller, left one day to find his own path amidst a bustling, frenzy of a city, and is now on his return back home-this song depicts that journey-- 14. NOW YOU KNOW... FT. PEP LOVE & HIMP C beat: migida lyrics & vocals: pep love, himp c, and doc prop *i had this beat for years..migida showed it to me back in the day and i thought it was way chill..pep hopped on it then himp laced it with some lyrical prowess..i tied it all together at the end with the hook and verse-- 15. SHOES beat/additional vocals: consequence the lost cause lyrics & vocals: doc prop acoustic lap steel: mister a *to my suprise this is everyones favorite track! to me it just came easy..one night when me and brad were on our way to the bars he showed me this beat he had just made at the time..i started freestyling to it and thats how i came up with the hook.. i texted it to myself so i wouldnt forget it the next day! also this was the last track marc and i recorded lap steel on for the album..i consider this a title track as well-- 16. ORCHESTRATED SILENCE beat/keys/automation: doc prop phone outro: cramps *i produced this beat one late night in chico..i wanted to give it an orchestral sound hence the melodies and instrumentation selection..i thought after making all the various breakdowns and build-ups that it had a very epic feel thus i put it as the last track on the album--oh ya..i chose to put a freestyle hidden track at the end at the way i determined the amount of silence is i converted the letters in Doc Prop into numbers and then into seconds of silence..so D=4secs..Doc Prop=1min 27secs **HIDDEN TRACK** FREESTYLE/JAM SESSION '09 beat: swoosh vocals: doc prop **BONUS TRACK** PARTY @ UR MAMA'S HOUSE FT.
