This song originates from the words and experience of my mother in law who, at 88 years old, was dying of a brain tumor. She lived with us at home before moving to a nursing home under Hospice care. It is from our daily visits that the lyrics and ideas emerged. Many of the lyrics are quotations from Nataliya as she wrestled with the confrontation of realism which she grew up with in the Soviet Union and a sense of spiritualism that she was immediately "experiencing".

The song tries to capture the frustration of her struggle to resolve this conflict. In the very end, however, she left this world in peace.
