This new record from Villa R is beta pop/wimp rock with an acoutic indie edge, treading a melodic line through tales of loss, realignment and renewal. Blown Cadence is the second album from Villa R after an 8 year gap since the first record - “Songs from the Apex”. Building on strong reviews and a loyal following of friends’ children, this second offering is a three city collaboration (Budapest–Berlin– Dublin), all recorded in Eóin’s place in Budapest. The approach to the record was to bring closeness and warmth to a lo-fi recording and covers a mix of warm acoustic riffs to melodica to cardboard box drums to found sounds. It is the second release on Vanity Publishing Records. Villa R is mostly a home recording project that draws on a group of friends and built on the song writing of Eóin Young. Starting with the first record in 2008, everyone involved with Villa R is/has been associated with several other musical projects. Work on Blown Cadence included Dominic Hislop (Hands of the Wrong People), Colm Fitzpatrick (The Sewing Room, Hey Paulette) & Eóin Young (The Deportees, I am the waltons). Eóin also has an electronica project under the name of Invisible Alan, which has got coverage on BBC Introducing and Tom Robinson shows on BBC 6 Music.
