简介
Pardon Me was a college exercise by Patrick McNeill to make a pop video . He came up with the basic lyrics and tune, Tim Constable set them to the cheesy Latin music. Maxine Swaby, a gospel singer, was a mutual friend, and he took the backing to her house to add her vocals to the track. The project was assessed, marked and that's where it should have stayed - until YouTube comedian Robert Popper got hold of it! Through adding the video to his website because 'it's so terrible it's funny', including tunnels of love and even a hilarious re-edit on funnyordie.com, the song has entertained about half a million people, and counting! This album has a completely re-recorded performance of the song - as it should have been... It would be wrong to release Pardon Me on it's own, so Maxine came up with the idea of a reggae version of the old classic, When you're Smiling. Tim developed the backing into a bonkers reggae version, and defies you not to smile when you hear it. As a final track to show both Maxine and Tim in a less frivolous mood, Now and Always is a traditional Gospel ballad, and Maxine's favourite of all the many songs Tim has written. We all hope you'll enjoy the songs in the spirit in which they were recorded.
