简介

The members of Red Eye Flight are thrilled to announce the release of their first album, Reposado. Recorded at Satellite Studios in East Greenwich, RI, and produced by Emerson Torrey (the Schemers, Raindogs), the collection features original compositions from the band, plus an interpretation of “I Hear Them All” (Old Crow Medicine Show, Dave Rawlings Machine.) Red Eye Flight is Kelly Cleveland (percussion, keys), Derek Escher (guitars, mandolin), Tim Murphy (acoustic guitar), Ken E. Taylor (bass) and Rand Torman (drums). In Red Eye Flight, everybody sings. Red Eye Flight has been playing live Americana music in Southern New England for nearly a decade. Their music is marked by rich vocal harmonies, set against acoustic and electric instruments, including a rollicking rhythm section. Mandolin, banjitar, Telecaster through an extensive tone-shaping pedalboard—Red Eye Flight’s soundscapes evoke everything from lonely Western highways to the flung spray of the Caribbean. A powerful sense of place is the touchstone in nearly every Red Eye Flight song. “Sandstone Creek” (Derek Escher, Tim Murphy), inspired by Jonathan Raban’s terrific 1996 book Bad Land, tells of a three-generation struggle to eke out a living in eastern Montana in land settled by Milwaukee Road company. “Making Margarita Cry” (Ken E. Taylor) tells of a gringo getting in just a little too deep south of the border. Taylor’s “My Sweedeedee” and “She’ll Get By” tell love stories in two very different moods and contexts. Guests on Reposado include some of Rhode Island’s finest musicians. Richard Reed (Schemers, Men of Great Courage) adds accordion; Tom Chace (the Propellers) adds piano and organ; Cathy Clasper-Torch (the Gnomes, Atwater-Donnelly) adds a delicious fiddle line to “I Hear Them All.”
