简介

Ezra Kwizera is a talented artist from Rwanda, with a heart for serving the Lord. His music is filled with his love for Christ and love for the people of this world. Ezra and his wife Mona run a transition house in Rwanda, supporting children who have lost their parents. Please support their ministry so they may continue to support the children and widows of this world. Below is information about their current projects. Widows with young children and Sewing school project To keep families together is very important to us as we decide who God is calling us to help. Many widows in Rwanda will bring their children to an orphanage in hopes that they will receive better care then they themselves can provide. Hoping they will be clothed, fed, sent to school and given medical care. We would much rather see these children stay with their mothers and assist the whole family to have a better life. So we support several widows who have young children and assist with paying their rent, providing groceries, paying the school fees, buying school uniforms and supplies. And some of these women come to a small sewing school we run in hopes to give them a better way of supporting their family with a skill. The Sewing school is completely free and all supplies are provided as well. Our goal is to assist them in finding a profitable way sell the clothes they sew as they learn. Hopefully one way will be to export them some how. The fact that we rent houses for these widows and that they are spread out around the city is one of the reasons we have started our next project… ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rwanda Building Project Our first building project is a small piece of land that we purchased and have already completed the foundation on. The purpose of the building is to house the widows with young children that we are already assisting. Our hopes are to vastly improve their standard of living as most of them live in two room houses with little furniture and no electricity, plumbing or running water. The standard they are currently living in is not acceptable to us. We rebuilt one of their houses for much cheaper for the interim so this one family would not be living in a mud hut that was falling apart, but even the new one is not up to the standard that we want to assist in providing for poverty stricken families. This new 6 dwelling complex we are building will have running water with indoeer toilets instead of out houses and electricity, plus a garden for them to help sustain themselves, and the communal life will allow them to support and assist one another in daily life. The foundation has been paid for but the rest of the project is still in need of funding. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RWANDA STREET BOYS TRANSITION HOUSE A house for the sole purpose of housing, feeding, caring for and transitioning teenagers from a street life in Kigali to becoming an educated member of society, able to support themselves and hopefully reach out to help those like them still on the street. We feel strongly called to assist the young men in Rwanda as the focus now of other Non government Organizations development projects is with girls and those infected with HIV. However these teenagers were young boys when the genocide happened and many of them are now alone or orphaned because their fathers were killed in the war or are in jail for committing crimes of Genocide. So if no one reaches out to these young men they can become another army seeking revenge. Something we long to prevent as the country has come so far in the 13 years since the Genocide. We long to see the healing continue and instead have these young men be Christian leaders in the generations to come. Once living in our transition house we pay for their school fees to go back to school or attend vocational school to assist them in finding a job. We started with 16 boys and 6 completed 1 year in the program and 10 completed two years in the program. They still need some ongoing assistance though as even though they now have skills, jobs are still hard to find in Rwanda. Currently we have new boys in the program and their house leader is one of the first boys to go through the program that we have hired to stay with our ministry. This is something we want to encourage in all of those who go through the program to continue to reach out to those less fortunate and hope to start an outreach program with them in leadership of it if funding comes in. The house they are living in is rented and one day our goal is to build our own house for this purpose on land large enough to also have workshops in mechanics, woodworking and brick making for educational/training purposes and for income generating purposes.
