简介
Wish was formed in October of 2003 after the disbanding of Test Project. Actually more of a reunion. In 1992 we were called Full Cast Crown, played until 94' and disbanded due to an internal conflict. Shawn Nelson went to play with A Soldiers Home, Jeremy Stewart joined local electronic rock act Inner-Kube, Josh, Aaron, and Tom went to form local hard rock act Test Project. Jeremy later left Inner-Kube to join Test Project due to losing their bass player. Test Project went off without a hitch, and preceded to play over 50 performances throughout the Midwest until around October 2003 when the founding member decided to call it quits. Down but not out, the remaining members needed a replacement guitar player. So we looked back to the old days and Full Cast Crown. We spoke with Shawn, and he came back to us no questions. It was a really good feeling to have all of us together again. Something about being best friends, and the chemistry of our writing style. So, we basically started over from scratch and began composing new material. The new songs were fresh, and strong, just like good coffee. We began recording the debut album shortly after we had about an hour of material ready. We continue to pump out new songs almost every week and now have a multitude of material. Enough to do a double album, which is what we intend to do for our second release. Our album was mastered at Silver Sonya Mastering. Yes, the very same place that masters Fugazi's albums. The quality of the sound is impeccable. Highly recommended mastering service. We plan to use their services again very soon as we are beginning the process of recording the second album. The Sound: OK, try to imagine if you will, a blender, The Deftones, A Perfect Circle, 1970's Yes, King Crimson, and hit puree. Individual explanations: Shawn Nelson's bowed guitar work adds an ethereal, sonic droning soundscape to the music. Jazz influenced guitar work also adds style to the sound. Tom Carstens guitar work is precise and calculated. Aaron Edwards is a natural front man. He has a distinct vibrato in his voice that always seems to come out at the right time. Josh Stewart is a very intricate drummer. His style is very close to Bill Bruford "King Crimson, Yes", Neil Peart "Rush", Stewart Copeland "The Police". Odd timing signatures, and his own invented beats make him a very exciting drummer to watch live. Jeremy Stewart: A huge fan of 70's Progressive Rock, he uses an array of bass effects to mesmerize his audience. Also the use of Moog Taurus Bass Pedals adds a truly unique sound to the band. Lush angelic vocal harmonies add an ethereal feeling to the music. As of now, we are doing our best to get the album out to people, and playing lots of shows. We will definitely be busy recording the second album in the next few months. Feel free to contact us if you like what you hear, or if you want to acquire us for a booking. Thanx for checking us out.
