Gianni Gebbia soprano, alto & baritone saxophones

This historical first release on cd by Gebbia was somehow influenced by John Surman's solo recordings for Ecm along with Steve Lacy influences too. At the the time of this recording Gebbia was 28th years old but his typical style and approach are already quite well clear and firm. To be noticed also an early use of electronics and sequencers plus the first digital saxophon made by Casio. Onte of the tunes : Breathless is dedicated to the german coreographer Pina Bausch with whom Gebbia collaborated in the setting of the " Palermo Palermo " piece. The all recording is full of a nostalgic and quite mediterranean atmosphere.

This cd has been first released in 1989 for Gebbia's self label Geb records and then rereleased by Ponte Sonoro by producer Pietro Carfì.
