简介
Hellshot, a four piece metal band has been a force in the NYC metal scene since 2009. Hellshot’s music mixes elements of metal, thrash and hardcore. Soon after forming, the band played a slew of local gigs at noted venues including NYC's Fontana's and Local 269, Brooklyn's Trash Bar and the Upper East Side Metal Festival and developed a reputation for high intensity, balls-out live shows. Founded in 2009 by Jonathan Root (guitar/vocals), Gary Miller (vocals), Daryl Kral (drums), and Otto Hoering (bass), the band created crushing yet hook-driven songs played with reckless abandon. In the summer of 2010, Hellshot released their debut album The Path Of Least Existence. Recorded in one day and mixed on a laptop, this raw slab of modern metal made its way around the local scene and even on to iTunes. A year later in the summer of 2011, founding member Jonathan took off to Los Angeles. At the suggestion of IKILLYA's Jason Lekberg, the band auditioned guitarist Adam Ames who had previously played with local industrial-metal act Neurochord. It was a perfect fit, and the band forged ahead playing shows at Trash Bar, Local 269, St. Vitus and Knitting Factory. By the beginning of 2012 Gary was feeling the strain of his schedule and decided to leave the band. During an exhaustive search, Daryl, Otto and Adam sharpened their playing into a savage but tight thrashing unit. When they auditioned Saul Colon, formerly of veteran NYC hardcore band Social Disorder, they knew they had their frontman. Having honed his talents at legendary clubs CBGB and L'Amour, Saul brought further aggression and force to the live performances. Hellshot has played gigs with local bands IKILLYA, Hung, Resolutions 15, Nevereven, Wrench, Slam One Down, God's Green Earth, Deadzone, Threatpoint and Martyrd at its usual venues as well as Sullivan Hall, Blackthorn 51, Gussy's, No Partners and Don Pedro’s. In early 2014, Hellshot began recording its sophomore album "Sickening Society" at Nova Studio with renowned producer Jerry Farley who has worked with bands such as Sick Of It All, Ill Niño, Candiria and Anaka. The album will is mostly new songs written by the band in its present incarnation with all members contributing as well as a few oldies but goodies.
