简介
The minute the producers heard Kerri Anne Leblang perform "Fly With Me" live as part of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, we knew this song had to be in the film. It captures the heart and soul of the movie. Six months later here we are. Kerri Anne is a singer/songwriter with a raw and soulful vocal quality who has been performing since she was 6 years old and has been writing and recording music over the last 8 years. Throughout post production on the film, we kept searching for songs that fit with the exploratory nature of the lead character, Katie--a 16-year-old web blogger on a mission to understand her sexuality; this led us to the tunes of Shelley Miller. Shelley isn't afraid to take chances. A writer's writer, less interested in genre than honesty, she pens darkly soulful tunes about life just outside the lines. Folk? Perhaps...late-night jukebox folk. Gospel for non-believers folk. Had-one-too-many-and-lived-to-tell folk. Rock hymns for the unhemmed folk. From "Riptide" to "Tear Me Down," Shelley Miller is a young, sensual artist with a lot of energy. And what's a soundtrack without some wholesome reggae? "Run to Love" is that fun party track that'll keep you groovin.' Tjax Malek-I is an artist whose goal is to create expressive music with meaningful lyrics--Lyrics and melodies that carry the power to resonate the passions he felt for his home island Jamaica, social issues, and spiritual upbringing. The International Reggae Arts Award recognized his talents an unprecedented seven times--nominated in seven different categories included Best Song, Best Singer, Best Songwriter, Best Male Vocalist, Best Entertainer, Best Stage Presence and Best Producer for his single "Living in a Ghetto". "I Loved U" and "Smile" are those high energy pop dance songs that'll keep you jamming. Written and performed by Alexius & Romeo-a group who recently returned to music after a ten year hiatus, they spent most of the past decade producing and acting in film only to be pulled back in to the dark side for this project. Check out their pictures. If you make the connection to the movie, you'll qualify for some cool free "Critical Nexus" souvenir. Other cool songs include "Better Days," written and performed by composer, Jon Pierre; "Free" by Singer/Songwriter Adam Burklund (we knew this song would work within fifteen seconds); And "Catch Me If You Can" by Renee Dion & Will Octane Rickette (how fitting for a road movie). Much like the movie, this soundtrack is a thrilling ride.
