Before releasing a new Brownstudy album in 2008, Third Ear are releasing the classic Tell Me More About Bubbles mini album on digital. Jason Hogans received international acclaim for his debut EP Peter and the Rooster (Planet E). Peter and the Rooster combined intricate chord changes with bizarre meters ( Jazzanova and 4 Hero) that pulse with Hogans own logic of funk and varying blends of organic and synthetic sound, in the tradition of Herbie Hancock or Stevie Wonder. Peter and the Rooster drew global attention talked up by respected names like Josh Wink, and Kirk DiGiorgio (As One, MoWax). Jason Hogans compositions are a gumbo of eclectic noise because Jason himself is a cornucopia of influences hip-hop, jazz and folk paramount among them. And hes not just a beat programmer; hes also a songwriter, MC, producer, vocalist and musician. Jason Hogans has been involved in collaborations with artists like Malik Alston (Third Ear) John Arnold (Transmat, Ubiquity) and Paul Randolph (Mudpuppy, Innerzone Orchestra) He also contributed two stand-out tracks to Third Ears Enjoy Detroit compilation (3ECD/LP-010). Tell Me More about Bubbles is Jason Hogans telling it from the heart, rapping out the thoughts of a spirit challenged by mans contradictions.
