Jay Quest a/k/a Minister Joey Smith, the youngest of five children, raised in a single parent home by his Mother, gives firsthand testimony to survival on the streets of metropolitan cities. In the beginning, Jay Quest experienced the music industry from a non-religious background. Having had passion for all types of music, his interests eventually returned to Rap. The formal training he received in the R & B Rap industry helped to develop his professional performance. After being introduced to Jesus Christ and receiving His gift of eternal salvation, Jay Quest continued his dedication to Rap music, but the message changed! God called him to minister life to the lost, and he quickly committed his life to Gospel Rap, not just as an art form, but also as a ministry. Jay Quest’s ministry carries a strong message of deliverance, and a better understanding of who God is. His unique style of delivery and poetic lyrics brings healing and restoration to believers, and captivates the minds of unbelievers who are devout Rap listeners. He is currently working on the completion of his CD, What is Life. Jay Quest has shared his ministry gift in concert settings with some of the most respected names in the gospel industry: Dawkins & Dawkins, T-Bone, A1Swift, Trina Jefferies (a/k/a Sis Cantaloupe), K & K Mime, B. B. Jay, and the list continues. Jay Quest serves as a Youth Leader and in many capacities as a Staff Minister at his local church, God’s Tabernacle of Deliverance in Desoto, Texas. Formerly, he was a Youth Leader at Gospel Tabernacle in Dallas, Texas.
