简介
L.U.V.'s upcoming release of the self-titled EP promises to draw its listeners in with its magnetic beats and catchy melodies. The members of the band behind the music are just as energetic as the larger-than-life EP itself. Lead singer/songwriter Jimmy Sweet decided he would be a rocker at age nine when he asked for a microphone for his birthday. His lifestyle from then on proved to back up his ambitious statement. By age twelve, he had his first guitar and began "taking lessons" from simply listening to his favorite musicians, such as Johnny Ramone. Never having any formal musical training, Jimmy is instrumentally-inclined, being able to play guitar, drums, keyboard, bass and even a little saxophone. Realize Records discovered Jimmy Sweet in Los Angeles at Sunset Strip’s famous “Rock and Roll” Ralph’s grocery store, right next to the deli section. The arbitrary encounter with Sweet proved to be only the beginning of discovering his outside-the-bubble personality. Described as crazy, completely insane and “a mess” by those who know him, the only box that can contain Jimmy is the case holding his EP. Sweet's lifestyle is the archetype of a rockstar. Playing live music, being the first to arrive and last to leave at a party, and having booze and babes to keep him company, Jimmy can only smile at the life he is living. "I devote my whole day to a show…I wanna make sure my show is the best show I’ve ever done. It could be your last show, your best show, you could meet your wife," says Sweet. He declares the stage is his second home. "I like going to parties to be stupid and loud - and get paid for it." Jimmy has turned many heads at the venues he has played. Among being a former member of Hot Hot Heat, Richmond Sluts, and Rolan Bolan, he made many appearances such as Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and has toured extensively both in the United States and Europe. However, Jimmy isn’t the only sweet the band has to offer. Three sexy females make up the rest of L.U.V. The female trio consists of the beautiful blonde, Claire, the striking brunette Holly and the red-hot redhead Kasia. On bass is Claire, who helped to electrify the indie-electro band TV-OD, and played live on major music TV shows. She was asked to guest in Keith Flint’s solo band “Flint” and is featured in Jonas Ackrlund’s (Lady GaGa – Telephone, The Prodigy - Smack My B**ch Up) promo video “Aim 4”, achieving heavy rotation on MTV2 throughout Europe. Claire also has written music for past and upcoming films including “Beyond the Rave” featuring Sadie Frost and Lois Winstone. The young drummer and percussionist Holly secured a place at the Paul McCartney Fame School (LIPA) in Liverpool at a young age and currently has endorsements from Vic Firth and Pork Pie Percussion. A singer/songwriter, she rocks out at live shows regularly and has recorded sessions for Laura Steel and Kalorie. Poland-born Kasia's skills are showcased on the synth. Embracing music school at age seven, she left at age fifteen looking to branch her artistic talents and found graphic design. After jamming sessions throughout her late teens and early adulthood, Kasia determined to go to London to create or join a band where she met Jimmy Sweet. The major accomplishments and talents of the four rockers mixed in with their overall stage presence combined with songs that have been christened “dirty, sexy rock ‘n’ roll”, L.U.V. is geared up and ready to go. “I have more hits than Barry Bonds, man,” chuckles Sweet. We can’t wait for the world to hear some of L.U.V.’s future home runs.
