Rolle-x, a.k.a. Alek Rolle was born in 1983 in Nassau, Bahamas. He liked poetry growin up, stating that “taking words and adding meaning beyond their base is an art that today am still trying to master”. He got exposed to American hip hop in his teens, and would record random rhymes on a cassette player, thinking that was the coolest thing there was. His greatest hip hop influences have been Kriss Kross, Talib Kweli who is a lyrical master, Kanye West, a creative and innovative artist, and Eminem, an artist that can manipulate a beat and his words like no other. Apart from the American hip hop, Rolle-x has been exposed to the Carribean reggae-dance hall, a genre that is widely gaining popularity in the U.S. This influence is readily recognizable in his style, making it raw, resulting into a flavor that has ever amazed his listeners. Rolle-x describes his style as “boarderline conscience”, adding “I am ready to battle, I can exercise your brain while making your skull rattle”.

Rolle-x has been performing in clubs and theatres with different groups since his high school years. His latest group has been the all-starz, composed of artists from all over the world including the carribean, the U.S., Africa, and even Asia. With such diversity, the group has come up with a unique style that eliminates the monotony common with many single genre albums today, a style that will capture you throughout.

Rolle-x is a born rapper. He raps what he feels and that’s the reason his listeners identify with him, his style is raw and complicated, with a smooth flow arising from the carribean style. His lyrics are exceptional and motivating, since he writes them from his poetic influence and the day to day inspirations, writing both inspiration music and club hits to accomodate all his fans.
