Brisbane’s newest purveyors of super catchy smart pop are unveiling stage one of their master plan with debut single Little White Lies, a three minute power-pop blast of piano, bass, drums and duelling vocals. Sitting somewhere between early-era Ben Folds Five and Weezer, Little White Lies tells the story of (mostly) true love and showcases Sports Fan at their rawest, captured by producer/engineer Yanto Browning (The Medics, Tara Simmons, Art of Sleeping, The Jungle Giants) at Airlock Studios.

Sports Fan are the chemical amalgam of singer and pianist Dion Read (Dion Read & The Afterthoughts, Rhiannon Hart & The Umm-Ahhs), drummer Vincent Kemp (Vincent Kemp & The Dead Lovers, Dexters Conscience) and bassist Benjamin Webster (Fushia). Playing intelligent, hooky piano power-pop, the guitar-less Sports Fan threaten noise restriction levels everywhere they perform and are further establishing Brisbane’s pop credentials alongside Ball Park Music, Hungry Kids of Hungary and Cub Scouts.
