Living Fiction A Collection of Songs Inspired by Books What does Slaughterhouse 5, Dr. Suess and the Shinning have in common? They are just 3 of 11 books that Tai Shan was inspired to write about in her new album, Living Fiction. This album is 100% inspired by literature- If you love books and you love music you will love this album. Tai Shan grew up north of San Francisco, and while her mother worked the night shift, her father would read all sorts of literature; from Greek mythology to American classics. Flash forward to present day Seattle where Folk- Pop artist and music teacher Tai Shan is active member in a literature inspired movement called the Bushwick Book Club originated in the Bushwick neighborhood of New York, New york. For the past 3 years Tai and other predominate Seattle songwriters perform each show by reading one book and writing a song inspired by it. This album is a culmination of 3 years of work, including a work that was written for the 60 piece Seattle Rock Orchestra.
