简介
Coined, "the perfect blend of Ella Fitzgerald and Joni Mitchell," by Boston's 92.5 the River, jazzy/folk-rock singer/songwriter, Sarah Blacker, has been consistently winning over audiences along the east coast and beyond, since the release of her debut album, 'The Only Way Out is Through,' in October of 2009 to over 300 fans at the Hard Rock Cafe, Boston. Named the Number 1 Artist of 2009 by Max Bowen, writer for the Noise, Boston, she was most recently chosen out of 40 Boston-based singers during Radio 92.9's Contest with Ernie Boch Jr. [New England auto-giant] as the voice and face of his new Subaru TV and radio commercial campaign. Blacker is a Board-Certified Music Therapist for children with special needs, turned full-time singer/songwriter, and brings her black lab, Beasley along on her rigorous touring adventures as often as possible. A witty and soulful performer, with an incredibly unique voice, Sarah, her black guitar, and mandolin, "Mandy," have their sights set on the stars, and agreeably so, says Candy O'Terry of Magic 106.7, Boston. “I believe she’s a young artist that our listeners should know about, and I love the fact that she’s an artist with a social conscience.” This album, her second , 'Come What May,' an exquisite collection of 12 original songs which Blacker recorded and produced with her bassist, Sean McLaughlin of 37' Productions, Rockland, MA [Entrain, Elliot Smith, Rush] Sarah Blacker has shared the stage with Sara Bareilles Farren-Butcher, Inc., Sharon Little, Greg Hawkes of the Cars, Laura Veirs, Liam Finn, Carbon Leaf, Meg Hutchinson and more.
