"O Holy Night" is a beautiful Christmas song composed by Adolphe-Charles Adam in the mid-1800s. I've always wanted to do a cover of it and put my own spin on it. This arrangement is in 5/4, features melodic and harmonic adjustments, and has some great musicians accompanying me. * Sarah Garone (my wife): Lead vocals * Rob Müller: Drums * Jon Lang: Piano * Nathan Richard: Synth * Adam Strand and Krystin Newman get honorable mentions for offering to help, but it never worked out As with most of my music, it has some subtle and not-so-subtle touches to make it my own. I started this arrangement in late 2013 and never got around to finishing it in time for Christmas. It began on guitar during an improvisational practice session. Somehow my brain connected the rhythmic motif and "O Holy Night." I thought it would be interesting to try arranging the song's melody on notes that barely support it. I also wanted to contribute an artistic piece of music to the Christian body of music. It is my hope that this glorifies the God who has given me everything in my life.
