Gold Ain't Found Above Ground is the first official release from Brockton, Massachusetts MC, Mega Trife, not entirely produced by his longtime collaborator, Orlando based producer, Nonsense. Gold is a 16 track album featuring production from some of hip-hop's most elite underground producers, namely, Statik Selektah, Khrysis, Rashid Hadee (Little Brother's 'Dreams'), and King Midas from Houston collective H.I.S.D. Trife first appeared on the hip-hop scene in 2011 with the single 'Anything You Heard About' featuring Termanology which was followed by 'Grizzlies' assisted by the Brownsville duo M.O.P., both songs off of his debut album FullCircle. He saw moderate success with the lead single 'The Backspin' from his sophomore album, last year's 2095. Gold's first single, 'As Much As I Do', produced by Massachusetts beatmaker Nazo Da Beatsmith, is an instant throwback to golden era hip-hop setting the tone for what we are to expect from the project. Soulful beats and clever wordplay throughout, Gold Ain't Found... may just be the perfect soundtrack for a hip-hop head's Summer.
