简介
Kintsukuroi is the Japanese art form of using a golden lacquer to repair broken ceramic pottery. The finished product is considered to be more beautiful than when it was unbroken. Our intention was to have the songs build lyrically off of one another and tell a story that was clear but subtle. Ultimately, the story describes the journey of a man who has gone through the same stages as a piece of ceramic that has been whole, broken, and reassembled via the craft of Kintsukuroi. The true beauty of Kintsukuroi is that it is not only an art form; it is an explanation of self realization and furthermore describes our ability to rebuild after being broken. This explanation can be shaped and formed in billions of different ways, for everyone has the potential of being broken, and everyone has the potential to be whole again. “Sometimes life flows seamlessly from one perfect moment to the next; but often times we face struggles, insecurities, and setbacks that leave us broken. And we wonder what will become of the pieces,” (Jasmine Star).
