The song Don't Settle is a concoction of r'n'b, soul, hip-hop experimentation. With Niasha being heavily influenced by the likes of Lauryn Hill, the song was inspired by the hit song Doo Wop (That Thing) which forewarns the listener to the dangers of not having self love/respect particularly in the first verse. The song is an empowerment anthem for women in particular that encourages them to not settle in relationships that are toxic to their overall well-being from one sister to another.

It is based on Niasha's own personal experiences as well as discussions that she has had with friends and acquaintances about relationships which can be seen in her documentary.

This is not just a song but a movement of self-love, self-respect and knowing one's worth.
