In the early years following the new millennium, Michael Medall (founder of Modern Era Music), born and raised in the Midwest United States, was becoming more in-tune with hip-hop culture. Michael grew up in a very musical family. He has played in bands as a guitarist, pianist, and lead vocalist, but is now a rising emcee/producer in Hip-Hop. Now, Michael Medall has become an internationally connected musician. Known for attracting and engaging crowds of all demographics and backgrounds, by mixing a real-life essence, with compelling lyrics, and a connective stage-presence and crowd engagement. In Fall of 2011 he made his journey from the midwest to Helsingborg, Sweden where he continued networking with entrepreneurs and artists of all kinds. During his stay he was linked with MF Studios and TFX Productions, a Swedish Independent Record Label. From that point, Michael was welcomed as an in-house songwriter for the label. MF Studios engineered his debut mixtape "Second Decade". The project featured production from himself (18 years old at the time) and multiple other talented producers including gold certified DJ Pain 1. Prior to working with Michael, Pain earned a platinum plaque for his production work on "The Recession" by Young Jeezy. Pain has also produced for artists: 50 Cent, Public Enemy, Joe Budden, Juicy J, I-20, and many more. You can definitely consider Michael a name to be included alongside these artists. Michael continues to perform shows in both the United States and Europe. He's performed alongside: Mac Lethal, Psalm One, People Under The Stairs, Chris Webby, Sammy Adams, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, DJ Abilities and the list continues. Upon his victory of an Emcee Battle in Minneapolis, MN that took place in 2012, Michael was featured at Summer Set Music & Camping Festival 2012, which featured artists such as Nas, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and many more from multiple genres. "The Next Step" Official Mixtape was released February 22, 2012. The project features productions from DJ Pain 1, Decap, Downtown Music, and more. His EP and Album is set to release this year with support from many of the producers and artists mentioned above. Michael's debut tour - Inspire Tour 2013 launched May 9th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and took him and his team as far as Boston, Massachusetts and to many cities in between. Michael is currently gearing up for his second tour, which is tentatively set to take action Fall of 2013. Having an involved background in music and human relations, Michael has continues to bring positive energy and opportunity to the youth in his hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. Michael continues to move crowds with his undying love for music.
