The band is de-composed of four veteran Sunset Strip rockers who have returned to haunt and howl the nightclubs with a sound that grows on you like moss on a crypt. Cold Blue Rebels trace their roots back to a twisted version of the birth pangs of rock n’ roll, when Elvis Presley’s curled-lipped sneer met the howling onstage antics of Jerry Lee Lewis. Back in the days of hula hoops, rocket-tailed cars and the Cold War, rock and roll came onto the scene like the kid with weird hair and clothes that showed up at the party uninvited. Three decades later, on the heyday of the Sunset Strip, Mickey Finn’s band Jetboy signed to MCA records and brought a hard-rocking sound that meshed his glam rock look with the defiance of the Mohawk that crowned his head. Down the street, guitarist Joe Normal and bassist Danny Dangerous were picking up their own record deal with their purple-haired glitter rock outfit, the Zeros. Later, echoing the glam rock footsteps of their predecessors, Spazz Draztik and the Glamour Punks were carving an indelible name for themselves in the Hollywood rock pages. Out of those dyed-roots sprung friendships that lead to musical collaborations. Finn meshed his wide palate of tastes, which included groups like GBH, Fear and Black Flag to his cultural love of classic sci-fi horror and Japanese monster movies. Joining forces with Danny Dangerous, Finn composed a list of probable band names that he showed to his bass player. Dangerous and Finn agreed on Cold Blue Rebels, and the band name was born. The two approached former Zeros guitarist Joe Normal, who was looking for an outlet to express his passion for “real Rockabilly guitar.” Looking back, Normal reflects, “I saw CBR as a band who could push the boundaries of the Rockabilly and Psychobilly musical styles, its sound, fashion and image… and have a fun cartoony horror gimmick that would stand out above all the mediocre acts diluting the scene.” Cold Blue Rebels added on drummer Spazz Draztik, who shared a common musical and fashion stomping ground, and set out to form a band whose sound and look would stick to you like dried blood. In addition to their commit to release regular music videos, take on national tours with headlining dates in major cities (including the Hollywood’s world famous Whisky A Go Go), Cold Blue Rebels regularly pick up desirable supporting slots with renowned groups such as, Mad Sin, Head Cat (Lemmy, Slim Jim Phantom, Danny B Harvey), Wednesday 13 (MurderDolls), The Quakes, The Meteors, and Skitzo among others. Rankoutsider Records has re-released Cold Blue Rebels’ 2011 debut album “Blood, Guts, n' Rock & Roll” and their 2013 follow-up EP “Love Of The Undead,” and are preparing to bring CBR to the next level of success. Meanwhile the band is currently in the studio recording another full length disc set for early 2016 release. --------------------------------------------------- As haunting as a Friday the 13th film, North Hollywood's Cold Blue Rebels are stamping their devilish insignia on a deliciously horrific brand of psychobilly. Built around a number of talented, established musicians, the four piece super group is tearing up the Southern California scene to the delight of fans across the area. Featuring Mickey Finn of Jetboy on vocals, Joe Normal and Danny Dangerous of Zeros on guitar and upright bass, plus former Glamour Punks drummer Spazz Draztik, It's obvious why Cold Blue Rebels are already blowing up the scene. Using a distinct blend of rockabilly, with touches of punk, and outstanding horror inspired lyrics, the group is taking off like an F-15 fighter jet off an aircraft carrier. Gigs are piling up quickly, as promoters and venues are lining up to book the fantastic live performance Cold Blue Rebels delivers night in and night out. From the moment they arrive to a show in their 1974 Oldsmobile Hearse, to the final shake of one of their sexy Zombie dancers, the spooky vibes and blood soaked rockabilly frenzy shocks and excites fans, leaving them weary and satisfied. LA Weekly described Cold Blue Rebels as "a fast, hard and heavy show of morbidly hilarious, grimly fiendish punk rock," which speaks to their crypt keeping, graveyard-esque live show. With influences ranging from Johnny Cash and Social Distortion, to The Cramps and The Clash, their brilliantly diverse and fascinating musical vision starts coming to life like a zombie from a graveyard in Night of the Living Dead. Heavy duty psychobilly rhythms tend to dominate the guitars, while the thumping bass lines and grooving percussion hold down the hypnotizing beats. Finn's vocals are stylish, yet slightly snotty, with classic rock and punk inspiration carrying his distinct voice. Truly horrifically pleasant, while rocking the wheels right off of their rat infested low rider, Cold Blue Rebels are a unique musical sensation which demands the utmost attention from their sometimes unsuspecting audiences. Toss in a bucket of rockabilly, a fist full of punk rock, a library of classic influences, and a rotting zombie carcass into your musical blender, and out comes the Cold Blue Rebels. Check out their MySpace page for a captivating selection of free songs which are sure to have your head bobbing in no time, as well as numerous upcoming dates throughout the Southern California area. This is one act which truly should not be missed. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you survived or remember the Sunset Strip Punk-Glam-Trash-Rock Scene of the early 90's, you'll know who JETBOY, THE ZEROS, and THE GLAMOUR PUNKS are. Let us now introduce you to COLD BLUE REBELS a spankin' new super-group of rock elite fronted by vocalist MICKEY FINN of the legendary JETBOY, his pals JOE NORMAL and DANNY DANGEROUS of the infamous purple-haired ZEROS on scorchin' guitar and slappin upright bass, plus former GLAMOUR PUNKS skins basher SPAZZ DRAZTIK on the drums. This is one helluva PSYCHO rockabilly outfit heavy on the billy, as Mickey would say. "The vibe bounces back and forth between fast swingin' rockabilly songs with horror lyrics, to twisted driving punkabilly.......with horror lyrics!!" Says Mickey. "And dont forget a dose of Honky Tonk n Country Punk" adds Danny!! COLD BLUE REBELS are destroying the stages and cemeteries of America with their brand of spooky Psychobilly, complete with sexy Zombie Rebel Dancers, cold blue make-up, blood n guts, vampire fangs, a real coffin, and oftentimes show up for the gig in their 74 Oldsmobile Hearse or sick rat-infested rat-rod low rider they call Ratty. Recording albums for major and indie labels, and having rocked stages worldwide, these four west coast rockers have had a lifelong love of vintage Rock n Roll, classic Punk Rock, Rockabilly and classic hot-rod cars. Finn has been hanging out in the LA Psycho scene for the last few years and loves the energy, style, and music. Reuniting recently with his old pal Danny, he was happy to learn that he too has been into the Rockabilly/Psycho scene for a long time. It didnt take long for them to start planning the future of COLD BLUE REBELS, and just as fast as you can say "PsychoSonicBoomaBilly", the call was made to Joe Normal and Spazz Draztik to hook up and start writing songs. Imagine how the Munsters and the Clash would look and sound slashing away at Elvis and Johnny Cash while the Stray Cats and Alice Cooper looked on Thats what the Cold Blue Rebels have to offer... Fun Psycho-Horror-Rockabilly at its spooky finest! Guaranteed to please the grave robber in ya! This is truly BLOOD, GUTS & ROCK N ROLL!!
