Zoraida Santiago is a singer-songwriter from Puerto Rico. She is one of the most important members of the "new song" or "nueva trova" musical movement. In this CD, she sings her own compositions and musical versions of poems by renowkned poet Julia de Burgos. Her instinct for melodic construction and her beautiful and strong voice make this CD a pleasurable and stimulating experience. Canción Sublevada was picked by the critics as one of the best recordings in Puerto Rico in 1994.
