The Walkin' Dude is Red Star Arcade's second offering on Sidetrak Records. His Compassion Love EP set the scene for Sidetrak Records and has reached a global market since it's release in early 2013. Remixes are from Lee Pennington, Nick Turner and Phil Eades. The Lee Penington remix has already received radio support from X-Press 2 featuring on their weekly show on Ministry of Sound Radio: House of X-Press 2. The release as a whole has received early DJ support from the likes of Ali Herron (Ooft!), Al Bradley (3am), Hippie Torales and Alex P. Special guest remixer on this EP is Zoo Project resident and *riffraff founder Lee Pennington whose remix has already graced dancefloors across Europe including Watergate in Berlin. Lee's DJ work has seen him play the main room in Privilege, Back to Basics, Jaunt, Shindig, Watergate and many more! His *riffraff nights have been bringing acts to the legendary Medicine bar and other venues in Teesside and beyond such as Dyed Soundorom, Tale of Us and Marshall Jefferson. Other remixes are from Nick Turner, who has had releases on Trendy Mullet, Audio Parallax and Turquoise Blue, and Phil Eades who has DJ'ed alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Mr C, Matthew B, Dave Clarke and Aubrey. The original mix of 'The Walkin' Dude' sees Red Star Arcade delve into the techier side of house music and the three remixes reflect and complement stylistically. The original mix sees the bouncin', walkin' bassline step upwards whilst the light, synth riffs subtly drop in and out. Stabs sweep inwards and upwards with the drums reversing and phasing at the pinnacles of the phrases over a pad that sounds like it's straight from a soundtrak! Lee Pennington's mix is more of an acid house affair. The subtle synth from the original is dissected and scattered throughout whilst the acidic 303-line teases and builds to suit the dancefloor dungeons this remix was built for! Nick Turner's mix is a darker, straighter driving tech track. Elements of deep house chords chime throughout with the hi-hats intertwining with each other to keep the high end ticking forward. Phil Eades' remix uses techno influences and infuses them with just enough of the original bassline to make the track identifiable yet with a clear uniqueness of it's own. Darker strings, pads and FX decorate this remix.
