BUYEPONGO, meaning “to cause a ruckus,” – is a high-energy creative musical group with an infectious sound that pushes crowds to dance continuously. The group's pulse and power is built around the drum and guacharaca (pronounced: wah cha rah ca) giving them an upbeat tropical flare deeply rooted in the Caribbean coast of South and Central America. This Pan-Latin fusion takes it’s cues from traditional "roots" music of Colombia, Haiti, Belize, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Their arrangements are unique, full-of-life, and infused with jazz and funk creating a vibrant sound that seamlessly fuses styles to it's own modern Afro-Latin groove, a genre of music they have named Buyangú Buyepongo's musical history continues to grow and shape their sound with their new record "Túmbalo", an extended play written and compiled by Yuka and Buyepongo. Track Musica Alegre, opens up the sound gates with the drums and Buyepongo declaring their arrival. Track 2, Alivio, tells the story of a lonely man looking for a pleasing change thru companionship. Track 3, Melodiosa, is a poem dedicated to Yuka's passion and inspiration. Track 4, Amado, is the journey of loving and being loved. A basic ingredient of the human experience. Track 5, Sueltan Fuego, a dedication of appreciation to the dancers on the dance floor. Where they are free to express themselves in their unique way Track 6, Vageo, ends the Ep on a high note with a short intro into a non stop dance heavy rhythm that takes you to paradise. The tracks were selected for the purpose of dancing and courtship.
