It’s often hard to separate where ministry begins and family life ends for worship duo Rusty & Jessica. It’s a part of every aspect of their life ... whether singing their children to sleep or leading crowds in worship, their goal is leading others in worship of a God they are learning to love more and more each day. Their journey of worship over the past decade and a half has led them to minister with several nationally recognized artists such as Tenth Avenue North, Johnny Diaz, and Mark Harris. But sometimes, it’s the moments that no one see that has taught them the most about worship - passionate abandon to God when no one else is looking. In the midst of raising three children, work, and family life, their focus on worship continues to be the passion that drives them. The couple married in 1999 after a high school romance that started with a mutual love of music. But they soon realized that their heart for God’s ministry would be a uniting force throughout their lives. The two high school teens answered God’s call to live a life of worship and soon discovered that His calling was leading them to lead worship in a local church in their hometown of Houma, La. Whether playing keyboard, guitar, singing or playing drums, the duo welcomes every opportunity to lead people a little closer to the heart of God through worship. Though lately, they have gone through a season of growth, with the addition of their third child and increasing family demands, they keep returning to their ministry of music. Their single “God’s Romance” provided opportunities for them to minister across the state in churches that opened doors for them that had never before been opened. But it’s what they have learned offstage that helps them minister most effectively. When life gives them heartache, they return to God with worship. When life hands them disappointment, they return to God with devotion. It is their desire that their worship would lead others to a place of encouragement and excited passion for Christ.
