Foulplay, "Waiting For The Day" Debut EP The review from The Rock Pit By Shane Pinnegar This new 3 track metal EP crossed my desk last week and I’ve spun it a few times now, and I’m finding it grow on me with every listen. Foulplay play pretty much traditional metal with a pinch of Alice In Chains groove added to create an individual style, and feature some inventive and interesting songwriting and playing and impressive, powerful vocals from leader Asiri Perera. All three songs impress, but it’s ‘Liquid Sky’ that is the standout track here, with it's soaring vocals and some great soloing from Trent Mitchell. “Waiting For The Day” is the first release for these guys, and whilst the playing in parts is slightly stiff, with a little roll injected into their heavy rock they have the potential to come up with something truly great. After years of honing their craft at most of the original music venues in Perth, Australia; Foulplay are excited and proud to announce the release of their debut EP; 'Waiting For The Day'. In front of a jam packed Rosemount Hotel, Foulplay celebrated the occasion, with a hugely successful and memorable EP launch. Foulplay has received many plaudits for their hook filled brand of heavy rock, and always aim to blow audiences away with a killer stage show. With the support of a very loyal supporter base, Foulplay has spent over a year fine-tuning their sound and are excited to have reached this point in the band’s evolution. Foulplay is; Asiri Perera- Vocals, Bass guitar Matt ‘Duddles’ McDermott- Rhythm guitar Trent Mitchell- Lead guitar Bryce Mitchell- Drums In 2009, Foulplay became a 4 piece and made a complete reinvention of their sound, growing into a more original, heavier rock style. Our EP: Waiting For The Day, an EP with three hook-laden, heavy rock songs.(if we do say so ourselves).
