The latest release from the Uproar Nation collective, the highly anticipated debut album from beloved member Jig, entitled, "Open Heart" is finally ready for the masses. The album is a themed project stemming from Jig's own experience of having heart failure and tasting the clutches of death, only to reemerge sometime later and do away with all the negative aspects of his life and speak with the mentality that he needs to be completely (and sometimes brutally) honest with everything he says because he now knows that there are things in life that occur that may not give a person a second chance.....so everything must be said with an "Open Heart". The artist Young Jig was born on November 16th, 1985 at Community Hospital, in San Bernardino CA, as Cedric Tyree Simmons Jr. Raised in a single parent household with his mother and two younger siblings he was brought up in the streets and had to learn and grow up fast to help raise his younger brothers James and Jamari simmons, in support of his mother Suprena Cole. He was drawn to the street life with the drugs, money and music which enticed him. While trying to keep his head on straight he continued through school, at the age of 17 realizing that his street life wasn't the best influence he decide to take his passion for music to the next level. From listening and admiring to writing and rapping. Collaborating with fellow family members and friends who also shared his same passion his talent and ambition, exponentially continued to grow. After the achievement of him graduating high school his dream was to take his passion, determination, hard work, and dedication for music into the music industry. While trying to keep a steady job to support himself he still continued to write, record, and collaborate with fellow artists, in hopes of one day reaching his dream. A strong lyricist with a profound song and rap writing ability, here he is-present day Young JiG, Ready to show the world what he worked so hard for.
