For our first original release on Grits N Gravy we welcome the Hungarian funk outfit MustBeat Crew. This is their debut release on Grits N Gravy & they’ve delivered 2 fine slices on funk utilising the vocal talents of Missin’ Red. Lead track ‘Pushin’ takes influence from classic house with a deva like vocal that’s set across a funky break beat, cool acoustic guitar & low slung bass. Grits N Gravy label co-boss D-Funk is on the remix of ‘Pushin’ & he transforms it into a slammin’ mid tempo breaks work out that wobbles & sores in all the right places with classy swung drums & added orchestra! Next up is ‘Last Night’ which ups the tempo with fine skippy beats. Missin’ Red vocals sit perfectly over a rasping yet funky bass line which is complemented with great guitars & keys. The second of the label co-bosses, Philly Blunt, takes up the remix reigns on ‘Last Night’ & he delivers 2 upbeat mixes that take the track straight onto the dance floor! Philly caters for both the breaks & the 4/4 crew with is mixes using both types of drums!
