简介
Connection started out as a joke. Brad Bailey's live setup features a massive assortment of guitar effects and amplifiers, and multiple cables are required to make all the connections. But this collection of music, which is being released in two parts, all of it comes from connection. Love, loss, hope, desire. Family. Everything that draws us together, and pulls us apart. "Events of the Morning" was born from the terrorist attacks of 9/11, and the feeling of losing people we had gotten used to seeing. "That Wasn't Its Name" began as an improvised performance at one of Brad's live shows. At one gig, he accidentally stepped on an octave doubler pedal, generating a sound he'd never heard before on an acoustic guitar. As the piece became what it is today, Brad would often forget the original title when announcing the song. A friend remarked, "well, I guess that wasn't its name." "Isabella's Song" was composed for an acquaintance who had lost a child. Shades of sadness, but much more a glimmer of hope and knowledge of seeing our loved ones again. Brad served in the United States Armed Forces, and like many service members, was apart from family due to deployments. "Father of the Year," the sole vocal track on Connection, pt. 1, was written to work through the feelings associated with missing so much time with his children. Connection, pt. 2, will feature more electric soundscapes, ranging from dreamlike to thunderous.
